Saturday was my cousin Becky's bridal shower. It was fun to see how happy she is. It was also fun to reminisce to when I was getting married, and how much I love my husband. (sidenote: I wore my new red heels to the party, and almost everyone there commented on how cute they were. It made me feel really good, but my feet are still killing me. They are all bruised and blistered.)
Yesterday after I got off work, Martin and I took off for Boise, Idaho, just for the fun of it. It was nice to be together, just talk about random things, and reconnect. It was a long time in the car, it was after midnight before we got home.
The red ones on the end are my very very favorite! I'm wearing them with this skirt that I've had for a while.
I also bought a red trench coat today that is amazing. After shopping Em and I went and bought candy for us, and bread to go feed the ducks. It was very fun. Some of the geese and one of the swans were taking bread right from our hands. They scared me a little bit. I was worried about them eating my fingers. After the park we went back to my house and Em called her boy toy John and he came and the three of us watched Across the Universe. It was an awesome day.
We had soo much fun. We decided to stay an extra night this time, which was very fun. Wendy left Saturday afternoon. We missed her Saturday night and Sunday. Gayla and I ended up going to bed at almost 6 am. I didn't get very much done, I was too busy laughing. Sara made Gayla some margarita jello. (she loves virgin margarita's) we all had some.
Gayla wanted to take a self shot of all of us. It took 27 pictures to get a couple good ones. We couldn't stop laughing.
I bought this frame at our thing and just finished it today. I really love it.
Here is a picture of the whole room. I painted the shelves with the DVD's on them. It took over 5 coats. They were a huge pain, but I like them tons better! Martin really likes the table next to the TV with the plants on them. Also notice our new ottoman! I freaking love it. It has storage! All of our board games are in there. So fun!
My brother is remodeling the basement in my childhood home. It is the weirdest thing ever to see it change so much. It is going to be so awesome when he gets it done. He's knocking down walls, moving walls and door ways, putting in a bathroom and a bar. It's going to be the party house and it makes me very excited!
Follow this link to see more pictures. Some of you have been in my basement and remember the green wallpaper and dark wood paneling. My family hates that green wallpaper, but I kind of love it. I kept a sheet of it. They all think I'm crazy. I don't know what I'm going to do with it, but I have it.
So Martin and I signed up to take a stained glass class and I am so stoked about it! The first project is a bee, and then we get to choose our second project. The class doesn't start until April 29th I want it to start now. (pouts)
Today is/was (?) my Mom and Dad's anniversary. It would have been 36 years. They got married on April Fools, but he really forgot the ring. Funny huh? I've been missing my dad a lot lately. I was looking through my cedar chest the other day and found pictures of him that I forgot I had. It was tender for me looking through them, I honestly thought I lost them, I also found that I had some old pots he made when he used to do pottery, and they all matched so I got them out to put on our new shelves. I wonder if I got my creative side from him. Anyway... I'm not good at expressing emotions, so I'm just going to stop now.
