My Mom is truly one of my best friends. Some people fear becoming their mother's, I think it would be a real accomplishment if I could become even half of the person my Mother is. She is amazing. Never judgemental, always willing to listen or help.
I remember her always initiating family prayer and scripture study and family home evenings, she knew they were so important even if we grumbled and complained. I remember going to work with her when I was off track or out of school for the summer. She worked two jobs for a while to help my Dad support our family when times were tough.
She has always been supportive of us kids and our activities. She always came to my band concerts and plays I was in. It always meant so much to know she was in the crowd cheering me on. It was hard when Dad died, harder on Mom than anyone else, but we've become stronger as a family.

Some of my favorite memories are the vacations we took. Just weekend quick trips to St. George to visit Grandma and Grandpa Mills, or going to Disneyland, North Carolina, and New York. We went to New York on my school band trip. I was so proud to have her along and wouldn't have wanted to spend that time and adventure with anyone else.
In New York waiting to go up to the top of the Empire State Building. My favorite picture us.
Going to the Statue of Liberty.
Us in Disneyland
I love now that I'm older we can be really good friends. I love going to lunch together, or going over to her house and watching movies on our days off. I love that we worked the election together in November.
She has made me who I am today and makes me want to be better tomorrow and always. I love you Mom!
