YAY!!!

We got a puppy! On friday when I got home from work I was looking at ksl.com for puppies and I saw an add for a beagle heeler mix for only $75! Two minutes later Martin was on the phone with the owner having them send us pictures. It was a breed we wanted for the same price that the coonhound was. I saw the pictures and fell in love. Only problem was that the owners lived up in Rigby Idaho (about 3 1/2 hours away) but it didn't matter we were out the door within the hour. It took forever to get to Rigby I was so anxious to get our puppy. Martin and I stopped at the Walmart in Brigham City to get food, a collar, leash, puppy pads. All of the essentials, and we were on our way again. When we finally found the house of the owners we picked one of the girls they had. SOOO CUTE. I don't have pictures now because we've been staying at Seth's house because we can't have pets at our apartment anyway.... The drive home was SO long! I held Abbi the whole way home. She whined for the first half hour, but she seemed very comfortable in my arms. She cuddled up and slept most of the way home. We stopped in Riverdale to show Gayla and then at Seth's house to show him. It was about 12:30 before we finally got home. We let the puppy sniff around the apartment and get comfortable. We set up a box with a blanket, toy and one of my shirts for it to sleep in that night. We were keeping her in the apartment anyway hoping that we wouldn't get caught by managment. To have a pet at our apartment we have to pay $300 even if it's only for a week. Stupid! Anyway we put her in the box and she slept for a little bit and then she would wake up and yelp and cry. All of the experts say they have to cry to get used to it but keep in mind we were trying not to get caught, so we had to keep her quiet. She slept and cried on and off until 3:00 am, then she kept crying, so I gave in and took her to the kitchen to see if she had to go to the bathroom or anything. Anyway...we went back to bed she slept until 5:30 so I got up with her again. I ended up sleeping on the couch because she was ok sleeping on the floor next to the bed....anyway long story short we didn't get very much sleep. My niece Allie got baptized yesterday I went to it and Martin stayed home with Abbi. The baptism went very well I can't believe she's that old. We stayed at Seth's house last night so we could train Abbi to sleep by herself. Seth rigged up a sleeping spot downstairs. It's pretty cool, but she cried until 3 am then slept til 6. We're trying not to let her sleep today so maybe she'll sleep tonight. I HATE LETTING HER CRY!!!!!! I feel so terrible. I hope it gets better. Seth is getting his puppy on Thursday so maybe if she's not alone she'll sleep. Anyway I'm sure this is really boring to read all these little details...but I'm so in love with this puppy I can't help it. She is the cutest thing I have ever seen in my life! I tried to put pictures on but I'm having "technical difficulties" so when I go home I'll post a bunch of pictures.

Yay for you and your new puppy! I'm super excited for you! I don't think I got a good night's sleep until Zoe was 5 months old! Good luck!
