reflecting

So I'm stealing an idea from Amanda's blog (hope that's ok.) I'll now be featuring a movie/tv/song quote in my sidebar weekly and you guess what it's from. I'm starting off with a hard one, so goodluck.

Martin and I were talking the other day about friendship and how it makes him sad that he's lost touch with so many friends throughout the years. I shared my theory about friendship from the experiences that I've had. Living in the neighborhood I did growing up, a lot of my friends ended up moving away. We always promised we would write/email and keep in touch but never really did. I've found this is also true with friends from high school. Now, who's fault is it? Martin was saying (and I see the same in myself) that he was so mad at himself for not just taking five minutes out of his day to send an email to someone. We're on myspace/facebook all the time, and we can't send a simple email? The other selfish part of us also feels that we shouldn't be the only ones to try. It's sad and it shouldn't be this way, but I think most friendships are made out of convenience. It's easy to stay close when you see the person often and don't have to put in a huge effort, and then when they move away we just get busy with live. Life intercedes I guess. Anyway what I'm trying to say is, to all my friends out there that I've let slip out of my life along the way, I'm sorry.

I know what you mean i guess we're all guilty of letting some friendships slip away. Life certainly does get in the way! Will definately be making more of an effort to keep in touch. I miss the chats i used to have with Martin when we used to put the world to rights hee hee and would love to get to know you more. Maybe one day we will get to hang out if you're ever back in England again or if im ever lucky enough to have a trip to America!!! ;0)

Yes, Grandma sometimes writes my name Kerry....I feel the same way you do about it. And she is one that put Aiden on his b-day card, lol.

Your friends aren't the only one you start loosing contact. Just look closer, what about family. It is very easy done to forget about them. You are busy with everyday life and time goes by so fast. Suddenly you realise that a couple of years have gone.
